Soccer, often known as football, is one of the world’s oldest and most well-known sports. The Football World Cup is the peak of international competition. Additionally, there are competitions like the African Cup of Nations, Copa America, and Euro Championships. The strongest domestic leagues are in Germany, Spain, Italy, and England (English Premier League, La Liga) (Bundesliga). The game is sometimes called soccer in other regions of the world.
The goal of the game
In a 90-minute game, football aims to score more goals than your opponent. The game is divided into two 45-minute halves. Players will have a 15-minute break known as halftime after the first 45 minutes of play. The second 45 minutes will start again, and the referee will add any additional time (injury time) as necessary.
Athletes and equipment
Each squad has eleven players. These consist of ten outfield players and one goalie. Each ground’s pitch is different, although they are about 120 yards long and 75 yards broad. Each pitch will include a center circle, an 18-yard box surrounding the 6-yard box, and a 6-yard box near the goal mouth. The dimensions of each side of the pitch must be identical to one another.
A field and a ball are the only accurate items for a soccer game. Players can don matching strips, shin guards, and studded football boots. The only players permitted to handle the ball are the goalkeepers, who will also wear cushioned gloves. There will be a captain chosen for each squad.
To score, the ball must enter the net of your adversary. For a goal to be considered valid, the entire ball must cross the goal line. Any body part, save the hand or arm up to the shoulder, can be used to score a goal. The actual goal is a frame 8 feet tall and 8 yards wide.
Taking the Win
It would help if you scored more goals than your opponent to win. Except for cup games, where the game may go into extra time or even a penalty shootout to determine the victor, if the scores are tied after 90 minutes, the game will end in a draw. Except for goalkeepers, who may use any part of their body within the 18-yard box, players must kick the ball with their feet and are not allowed to use their hands (of which more can be found in the next section).
